Zoran: We Achieved Our Target and Won Kalba and Sights Are Set on Dibba’s Confrontation

In the post-match press conference held by the end of the matchweek 9 of the Arabian Gulf League between Al Ain and Kalba, Zoran Mamic stressed that his team achieved the most important goal which is winning the three points. He said: “We did not play well, but winning our opponent remains the most important thing which is the prevailing fact in the football world.”

He added: “We faced lots of obstacles in preparing for this match as we missed today certain key players like Ismail Ahmed and Amer Abdulrahman who was injured while joining the UAE National Team away camp. Also, Mohammed Abdul Rahman “Ajab” who suffered from health problem and we were obliged to replace him. At any rate, our sights now are set on our coming confrontation against Dibba.”

Regarding mistakes committed by Al Ain squad in this match and they were so close to lose the three points, he commented: “The opponent has good front players and we tried to find possible solutions to deviate them. However, in football we always face difficult circumstances and the good thing is how to overcome them and achieve your goal no matter how difficult they are.”

Commenting on a question on his decision to let Hussein El Shahat play in second half, he said: “We kept El Shahat on the bench because he was not ready to play the whole match, and my plan prior the kickoff of the match was to let him play in the second half because he is the one who will be able to make the difference and achieve the team’s targets, given the decline of in the opponent’s performance.”
