Zoran Mamic, the Head Coach of Al Ain, said that he was not happy with the team’s performance in their last and final match in the league against Kalba. He underscored the fact that Al Ain squad missed the efforts of three important players on its starting line-up list, but they managed to win Kalba and snatch the three points.

Commenting on Al Ain’s failure to win any local championship this season, he said, “Al Ain has not been able to compete opponents this season with the level that fulfils the aspirations of its fans and every club member, but the team is still competing to win the title of an important championship at the continental level.” He added, ” We are well aware of what we are meant to do next season.”

He went on to say, “The club will adopt a policy of redoubling efforts and developing a new solid plan to appear in the best shape which leads the team to achieve great results and back to its normal position on winners’ podiums next season.”

He added, “In the football world sometimes you plan well to get the best results, but the outcome might not be as you expected and reasons for failure to achieve objectives are different; on the other hand, poor planning leads to disappointing results. Overall, I assumed my duties as the head coach recently and we have to sit down together to analyze well the current status of the team and plan ideally to guarantee achieving our goals.”

Commenting on a question on Al Ain’s inability to compete in the following edition of the AFC Champions League, he said, “We were hoping to win one of the qualifying cards for the next AFC Champions League, but we have to admit that we could not achieve this. Yet, for each situation we face, we have to find the right solutions. We will get together to develop certain plans that guarantee the perfect selection of players who should be attracted to join our squad to enhance the efficiency of the team’s lines and prepare for an exceptional season ideally.”

He stated that, “We must also talk about the positive aspects of this season. We have new players who already joined the first team coming from Al Ain Football Academy. They are outstanding players whom I am sure will be an added value to the team in the future, which is a great gain for the club.”

He concluded by saying, “Our focus now is on the next confrontation against Esteghlal Tehran FC in the 16th Round of the AFC Champions League to be held in Iran within the coming few days. We have to leverage our level of concentration, especially we are just done with the current season, to double our efforts and show our strong desire to move forward in our successful journey in the continental championship.”
