We are one team and one family

Hernán Crespo: I am happy with my team’s performance and happy with this important and deserved victory vs Al Wasl

Hernán Crespo, the Argentine manager of Al-Ain, expressed his delight over the great performance and the good result, which his team have managed to claim on the expense of the title holder of ADNOC Pro League, asserting: “We have managed to claim an important and deserved victory in a match that was not easy vs a for sure good team. Now, we have to temporarily be done with the case of the local Pro League and get ready for our next match vs Qatari Al Gharafa in the football tournament of AFC Champions League for the Elite Clubs, which is scheduled to take place on Al Gharafa’s stadium on the first of the next month of October.”

Commenting on question over the media reports, which continued to emphasize that Al Ain football club do have two teams, he said: “Reality confirms that Al Ain is a one team and a one family, which consists of an Administration, coaching staff, players, fans, and everyone who do love this big team.”

Over the reason that is behind the decline in the team’s performance, who was about to finish the match’s first half with a positive draw of two goals for each team, despite being in the lead with the score of 2-0 in an ideal timing, he said: “I do not look into this matter with this point of view and there is no decline in the team’s performance. On the contrary, we had two opportunities and took advantage from them, scoring two goals; then, we took two goals from two attacks, but I am very happy with the powerful personality which the team have managed to show up, while there are a couple of matters that we definitely have to improve and correct after finishing each match.”

In response to a question over the injuries of Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba, Yahia Nader Moustafa Elsharif, Khalid Al-Hashimi, and finally Mohammed Abbas, he said: “When you play many matches over a short period of time it would be normal in the realm of football to face some challenges, especially that some players during the resting period have joined their national football teams; for example, Kouame Autonne Kouadio, who joined as a starter player in today’s match, has returned after his recovery from an injury; as for Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba, he sustained an injury in the national football team’s training camp, while we have previously spoke about the injuries of Yahia Nader Moustafa Elsharif and Khalid Al-Hashimi. As for Mohammed Abbas, during today’s match, he sustained a bruise; and frankly speaking I don’t not like to talk about injuries and we have to focus our concentration over the important victory we have claimed in today’s match.”
