Hernán Crespo, the Argentine manager of Al Ain, expressed his feelings of pride and cheerfulness for being present in the list of competing teams to claim the title of AFC Champions League for the Elite, emphasizing: “I am also proud of the manner with which we managed to qualify as the champions of the previous edition of AFC Champions League, so we are required to perform our best in our journey to defend our title, starting with our match vs Qatari Al Saad, the good and wonderful team.”
Over his team’s preparations for the AFC Champions League, he said: “We are looking to AFC Champions League with great responsibility and we are definitely looking forward to the powerful start, taking into consideration that we are the crowned champions of the title of the last edition of the tournament, we are also in possession of the required capabilities and we are well aware that our task will not be easy, while everyone who is affiliated with this big football club are looking forward in every season to make new history, so we will be working to realize our sought after goals, and as I have already mentioned to you our task will not be easy.”
He went on: “We will be working and trying, as the champions, and we will also be looking forward to the powerful and satisfactory start as I have already mentioned to you. I also do not wish to say that what we were capable of achieving in the past season was by mere miracle and we definitely have respect for all of our competitors in this tournament.”
He went on: “This season will be long and we have to be ready and on the required state of readiness, as well as to react with patience and the mentality of triumph, while our sought-after goal is to compete over the title of all tournaments, especially AFC Champions League. I know Qatari Al Saad very well and I am well aware that they are one of the best football clubs in Qatar, while most of their players are international players who represent the Qatari national football team, but I have full confidence in the capabilities of my team players and we have the required experience and with the support of our fans we will be able to realize our sought-after goals.”
