Hernán Crespo: Our strength lies in our confidence in our capability and working as a team

I am proud of our players’ performance, while substitute players have the right to engage as starter players

We do respect all tournaments and we have sufficient time to talk about our match vs Al Ahly Sporting Club of Egypt.

Hernán Crespo, the Argentine manager of Al Ain, expressed his cheerfulness and pride over his team’s continuous competition over the title of the Intercontinental Cup among five teams after the deserved victory over their guest team of Auckland City. Certainly, the task was not easy but everyone performed their best in the required manner, so they were capable of satisfying our fans who continued to support the team to a great extent. Here, I would like to congratulate them on the deserved victory.

Commenting on a question over the secret that lies behind engaging a lineup that consists of substitute players, he said: “We should not forget that most of the “international” players at Al Ain football club have just returned from participating with their national football teams and they are exhausted and suffering some pains, like Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba, Kouame Autonne Kouadio, and Alejandro Sebastián Romero Gamarra (Kaku); While Soufiane Rahimi, for instance, was the only player who was at the required level of readiness. However, I have already emphasized to you that our strength lies in our confidence in our capabilities and the confidence in all members of the team; While substitute players, who engaged in fewer minutes in the official matches, have the right to engage as starter players like their fellow players.”

Over the pressure of the matches that his team is facing, besides fighting on multiple fronts on the local and offshore levels, he said: “That is the team’s lineup and we are very proud to be representing the nation at all tournaments, so this is something that doesn’t happen every year and we do respect all tournaments in which we are competing.”

Over his team’s next match vs Al Ahly Sporting Club of Egypt, he said: “In the beginning, I would like to emphasize to you that we have sufficient time to think about our match vs Al Ahly Sporting Club of Egypt; so, on the time being, we have to think about our next match in the local tournament of ADNOC Pro League, then we take care of the match that comes after, so we have to carefully manage our situation with the most appropriate manner and live our lives day by day.”
