Al Ain Club’s head coach congratulates his team players over their brilliant performance vs Sharjah Club in the first leg match of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup quarter finals

Ivić: Our task is not over yet… We also have to double our efforts so we can decisively decide the outcome of the second leg match

Vladimir Ivić, who is the Serbian head coach of Al Ain first football team, expressed his satisfaction over the brilliant performance delivered by his team players, which resulted in the deserved victory for Al Ain Club over Sharjah Club with three goals against only one goal. He also emphasized that his team has already taken an important step forward in the competition race, but at the same time he stressed that the qualification ticket has not yet been decisively decided and requires more concentration and hard work before playing the second leg match.

During the post-match evaluative press conference Ivić said the following statement: “I extend my congratulations to every and all players, as they have delivered a brilliant performance and deserved to claim victory. We managed to create a huge number of scoring chances; we also managed to impose our dominance over the match’s playtime from its kick-off. As a result, we were capable of scoring three goal that granted us a positive result before the second leg match, even though our task is not over yet.”

The Serbian head coach of Al Ain Club explained that his team managed to impose its personality on the pitch of play since the match’s first minutes, so he said the following statement:

“We were the team who dominated the match playtime and maintained the highest rate of ball possession, as well as the team who created the most scoring chances. We had a decisive scoring chance on the third minute by our Moroccan forward player, Al Houssine Rahimi. Then we had another scoring chance by our Togolese forward player, Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba. We were also capable of finishing the match’s first half with much greater difference in goals.”

To criticize the match’s second half kick-off, Ivić added the following statement: “We did not enter the match’s second half with the required manner, then we took one goal which I cannot find an excuse for, and that is an aspect which requires us to implement a distinct improvement.”

Al Ain Club’s head coach pointed out that his team was close to widening the result had they exploited the created scoring chances, so he said the following statement: “Before the goal which we took in our net, we had to be in the lead with a comfortable difference in goals. We created enough scoring chances to decisively decide the match’s final result in an early time.”

Al Ain Club’s Serbian head coach concluded his speech by emphasizing over the necessity of maintaining the same degree of rigorousness and concentration before playing the second leg match, so he said the following statement: “We managed to take an important step forward, but the second leg match, which will be taking place after two weeks, will be decisive. So, we have to keep working hard with concentration and discipline in order to ensure our qualification into the next stage of competitions.”
