Ivić: Today we played one of our worst matches through this sporting season… While today’s match was an important lesson we have learned from before the upcoming final match
I am not satisfied with my team’s performance in today’s match… We also have several players who did not show 50% percent of their true potential
Team spirit is more important than individual names… While results are made by reliance on the entire ecosystem, not on individuals
During his speech at the post-match evaluative press conference that took place after the end of the second leg match vs Al Nasr Club, Vladimir Ivić, who is the Serbian head coach of Al Ain first football team, emphasized that his team have played one of its worst football matches during this sporting season, despite qualifying to the final match of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup “ADIB”, thanks to the result of the first leg match.
The Serbian head coach of Al Ain first football team, said the following statement: “I am not satisfied at all over my team’s performance in today’s match. We played the match with a very bad performance. And I have already talked about the importance of maintaining full concentration and fighting for the sake of claiming victory, but what happened during the match dose not reflect what we have been working to accomplish. I cannot say that any player has delivered 50% or 60% of his true potential, which is something that we need to pause at and talk about seriously.”
Over playing vs Al Wahda Club in the tournament’s final match, Al Ain Club’s head coach said the following statement: “Our upcoming final match will not be easy, so we always need to play with up to 110% of our true potential if we truly wish to realize our sought after goals. This is the truth about the team, and when we lose concentration and do not apply what we have been preparing as a one ecosystem, then issues will start to appear immediately. We are one team even before being only individual players, so it does not concern me who scores and who commits mistakes. What is really important to me is the team work and making the difference inside the playing pitch.”
Over his team’s performance on the defensive and forward lines of play, the Serbian head coach said the following statement: “We have to defend the ball with better efficiency, we also need to defend with reliance on our defensive line and our goalkeeper in a way that fortifies confidence, so we can create forward efforts. We also have to protect the forward player and we need to pass the ball with greater efficiency. These details are very important and we need to improve those details during the upcoming matches.”
Al Ain Club’s head coach concluded his speech by saying the following statement: “We should not be thinking that we have already realized anything so far, because the truth is that we did not realize anything yet. Qualifying is important, but it is only one step forward, while what is awaiting us requires much more work and discipline.”
