Al Ain defender, Marcel Ratnik, emphasized that the match against Sharjah in the first leg of the ADIB Cup quarter-finals is associated with a special importance for the team, noting that the Boss “Al Zaeem” enters the match with high spirits despite the absences. “ADIB Cup match is so crucial for us and we should do our best to achieve a positive result away that will give us an advantage before the return leg at home among our fans”, he stated.
He added that Al Ain has demonstrated positive indicators that reflect the team’s readiness and determination to show a strong image, stating that: “As noted in our trainings, all players are well-prepared to demonstrate their best performance in matches.”
Commenting on a question about the remarkable improvement in the team’s defensive performance this season, Ratnik emphasized that Al Ain’s power does not lie in individuals but on an integrated collective system. “The secret of our defensive solidity is that we train very well and remain cohesive throughout the match. Defense is not the responsibility of the back line only; every player in the team participates in the defensive system with one common mindset: Not to receive any goals,” he stated.
Regarding the team’s goals this season, Ratnik has emphasized that the team’s ambitions have not changed since the start of the season, saying: “Our ambition is winning the treble … Since the very beginning.
