Vladimir Ivić: We were the best on the pitch, while claiming draw as a final result does not reflect our team’s overall performance

Vladimir Ivić, who is the Serbian head coach of Al Ain first football team, praised the overall performance of Al Ain football team’s players over their output during the match that brought them together with Shabab Al Ahli football team on today’s evening. The Serbian head coach made these remarks during the post match evaluative press conference, he also emphasized that his team performed very distinctively on both the physical and mental levels.

Ivić said the following statement: “We imposed our style of play over the majority of the match’s life span, we were also very clearly capable of imposing our full control over today’s match play time. We were also the most present and organized team over the pitch, and we were capable of minimizing the competing team’s scoring chances to the lowest levels possible.”

He also added the following statement: “During the match’s first half, we managed to create several decisive scoring chances in front of the competing team’s net, we were also capable of being comfortably in the lead with a score of up to 4-0 or 5-0, but we were not capable of transforming those scoring chances into goals.Even though, we were totally organized on the defensive side of football, and we did not allow the competing team to directly threaten our net.”

The Serbian head coach explained that the balance of play continued up until the match’s second half, even though the forward style of play declined to a certain relative degree, this maybe due to exhaustion or the exaggerated self-confidence, as a result the competing team managed to return to the match’s atmosphere through some limited attempts to score but without creating any clear and decisive scoring chances.”

He went on by adding the following statement:“Reality confirms that Shabab Al Ahli football team occupying the top position of the tournament’s standings table had not been realized out of mere coincidence, because the team has among its ranks some good players but we were the best team through the majority of the match’s life span.”

Al Ain’s Serbian head coach concluded his speech by saying the following statement: “In terms of the overall performance, were deserved to claim more than only one point out of this match, but this is the reality of football. Now, we have to be totally realistic, then we have to keep working with concentration and with seriousness in order to return to the path of triumphs and to realize our sought after goals.”
