Abdullah Ali, Supervisor of the Al Ain First Football Team, emphasized that the preparations of the “Boss” squad during the current FIFA break went according to the approved plan.

He said: “The team played two friendly matches against Al Hilal United and Mumbai City. The latter marks the 17th friendly confrontation during this current season. Unfortunately, during the last two friendlies, we missed the efforts of the “internationals”, Khaled Eisa, Bandar Al Ahbabi, Caio Canedo, and Mohammed Abbas, in addition to the Togolese striker Laba Kodjo and Nasser Al Shukaili, our national Olympic team player.”

He pointed out that the head coach granted the players a 24-hour break so that all team players return tomorrow evening.

Abdullah Ali added: “The team’s preparations program for the current season, which was set up by the coach since he officially assumed his responsibilities, was approved by the Board of Directors of Al Ain Football Club, chaired by Dr. Matar Al Darmaki ahead of the pre-season away camp.

“Thanks to the generous support of the Club’s senior management and commitment of all team members to achieve the desired ambitions. It is all about their adherence to the team’s regulations and controls, which are based on the Club’s vision and institutional values, to excel this season,” he stated.

Commenting on a question on the UAE National Team’s qualification for the play-off with its historic victory over the South Korean team yesterday evening, he said: “The qualification was definitely deserved, and a true translation of the great efforts exerted by the men who showed their genuine desire to qualify and the fighting spirit they enjoy. However, the most important thing in the current stage is the concerted efforts and focus on the upcoming benefits.”

He stressed that there is nothing impossible in the football game, and “yesterday, our beliefs were proved to be right, i.e., the championships achieved by junior teams are “fake,” and the real achievement of the football academies is to create and train professional football players who can fill the gaps in their clubs and support our national team with star players who are capable of giving and making the difference.”

Regarding the current situation in the Club’s clinic, he said: “Thanks to God, we do not have any player under treatment in the clinic currently. Jonatas de Santos completed his rehabilitation program and is fully ready to participate in the training sessions.”

He signed off by saying: “We hope that all players are in form, including the international players, ahead of resuming the training sessions tomorrow.”
