Extended his Sincere Congratulation on the Occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and the National Team’s Qualification for the Play-off Stage.. Sergiy Rebrov: We Will Play Attacking Football with Balanced Performance Against Al Wasl

We Play for the Fans and Hope to Allow them to Return to the Boss Stands

We Have No Injured Players

First of all, I would like to congratulate all Muslims on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and congratulate the players of the UAE National Football Team. They did well and achieved great success. The following matches are critical for the team,” Sergiy Rebrov stated in the pre-match media conference dedicated to matchweek 20 of ADNOC Pro League.

The head coach pointed out that he likes to see his players return to the team after they achieve success with the national team and feel happy.

He added: “However, we are playing in a different tournament. And after a long break, we all understand how important that we won Al Wahda in the last match. It was a critical victory for the team and maintaining our top spot in the league standing table.”

He also stressed that all coming matches represent three points for the Boss squad and that the team has to play seriously and be prepared well.

He hailed the squad players saying that all the players have a strong desire to join the training sessions and play coming matches.

However, he commented on the decision to play two matches without fans, saying: “Unfortunately, we would play the next match without the fans. I ask the UAEFA to allow our fans to attend our matches and be behind the team. We are playing for them, and without seeing them in the stands, the players will miss the motivation to play. Nevertheless, I am sure the players are in form and fully prepared. Regardless, we know how important the next match is!”

As for the conditions of the team and the status of injured players, he commented: “The good news is that we do not have any injured players as all of them rejoined the squad except for Jonatas. This is very important for the team as we could focus on performance in preparation for the next match.”

Commenting on the opponent’s performance, he said: If you remember our last match here in HBZS, it was a challenging match. The only solution for us is to focus on playing attacking football and find a balance in performance. Al Wasl is a dangerous team, especially in counter-attacks. We have to be ready for that. We have to be careful because their strikers are fast.”

He concluded his statement by saying: “The Boss squad should dominate the match as of the kickoff whistle as its points of high importance for the team. We should show our strength from the first minute of the match until the finish whistle.”
