Al Ain Commences Their Journey in the Arabian Gulf League by a Draw

Al Ain and Al Wasl concluded the entertaining match of round 1 of the Arabian Gulf League with a 2-2 draw at Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain. By this result, the two teams got the first point in their balance.

Al Ain’s goals were scored by Swede’s Marcus Berge at 6″ and Brazil’s Dyanfres Douglas at 55″, while Al Wasl scored through Brazil’s striker Caio Canedo from a penalty kick at 44″ and Brazil’s Fabio Lima at 63″.

The match witnessed a strong performance from both teams’ players where Al Ain dominated the match and created lots of crucial chances. Al Wasl adopted a defensive style and relied heavily on counter-attacks.

Al Ain players were able to translate their dominance of the match by scoring the first goal in the sixth minute by the Swedish newcomer, Marcus Berg, following receiving an ideal pass from the Brazilian Caio Lucas inside the box.

The referee, Mohamed Abdullah Hassan, canceled the goal scored by Caio Lucas at 13″ for being in an offside position.

In minutes before the half-time break, Al Wasl was able to score their draw goal through penalty kick hit by Caio Canedo at 44″.

The second half witnessed a strong start, and Al Ain’s Brazilian striker Dyanfres Douglas was able to score Al Ain’s second goal in the 55th minute after he received an excellent pass from his teammate Marcus Berg.

Al Wasl managed to return to the atmosphere of the match when the Brazilian Fabio Lima scored Al Wasl second goal in the 63rd minute.

Again, few minutes before the end of the match at 2 + 90 minutes, the Brazilian Dyanfres Douglas scored a goal but the referee canceled it for being in an offside position.
