“We lost to Al Wasl in a crazy match witnessed scoring eight goals,” Zoran Mamic opened the post-match press conference held at Al Nahyan Stadium. He underlined that his players committed many mistakes more than Al Wasl and they were not in their day and lost the match by a big result of 5-3.

Commenting on a question on how he will deal with the mistakes on both front and back lines given that the team’s is about to play his first game in the FIFA Club World Cup, he said: “I do not think we have any problems in our front line. We scored three goals today and I believe they are enough to make you a winner. Also, we have scored more gales up to date compared to the same round of last season.”

“Al Wasl is a good team and was able to make use of our mistakes in the right manner. When you lose the ball 30 meters away and you do not reposition and be react well, then you will find the opponent taking advantage of such a space. Also, our passes were not good at all,” Zoran added.

He went on to say: “Not to forget that we are missing Rayan Yaslam and Amer Abdul Rahman due to injury. Also, the three midfielders Yahiya Nader, Mohammed Abdul Rahman and Ahmad Barman are suffering from exhaustion as they played most of the team’s matches during the recent period. I selected Mohammed Fayez in the back line and pushed Shiotani to his position in the midfield.”

On the impact of losing today’s match on the morals and performance of the team while preparing for the FIFA Club World Cup, he said: “I think Al Ain’s participation in the FIFA Club World Cup is a bonus and a reward for a great season. We are to enjoy and celebrate our achievements and do our best to achieve positive results. indeed, we do not suffer from any pressures and our sights are already set to show our genuine and quality skills in this international competition.”
