Al Ain Power Past Esteghlal to Reach AFC Champions League Last Eight Following Historical 6-1 Victory

Al Ain cruised into the quarter-finals of the 2017 AFC Champions League for the second time in a row and the seventh in their history with a comprehensive 6-1 thrashing by the end of the match held at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain City allowing the team to brush aside the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Esteghlal and advance to the next round.

The “Boss” controlled the match and dominated all its details massively and was the best side at all times. The team was able to achieve the desired result so early ending the first half taking the lead by two clean goals.

The “Boss” was able to score first through the Brazilian, Caio Lucas, in the 27th minute with a powerful shot from inside the area taking advantage of a typical cross from the South Korean, Lee Myung-joo.

Caio was on target again and scored his second goal at 32nd minute lobbing goalkeeper Mahdi Rahmati and finishing into the empty net to double Al Ain’s lead.

In the second half and immediately after the restart, the Team’s Captain, Omar Abdul Rahman, made it 3-0 at 49th minute by a strong shot from a tight angle inside the box.

The South Korean Lee insisted to have his own touch in his last match with the team and scored the fourth goal at 56th minute.

Again, the team’s captain “Amouri” scored his second personal goal and the fifth of Al Ain Team at 60th minute following quality and skilful dribble advancing from deep and sending a long-range effort that left goalkeeper helpless to save.

Al Ain invested in the collapse of the Iranian team and added their sixth goal by their Saudi striker, Nasser Al Shamrani in the 75th minute.

The striker of Esteghlal Tehran was able to claim a consolation for Esteghlal seven minutes from time.
The “Boss” will be waiting for the quarter-final draw to be held in the coming days in the Capital Kuala Lumpur- Malaysia.
