Zoran Mamic: Task of Al Ain’s Rivals Will Not Be Easy in Coming Seasons
The Croatian Head Coach of Al Ain Team, Zoran Mamic, said that his team’s victory over Iran’s Esteghlal Tehran was the fastest and the most perfect one in the current season. He emphasized that, “The match was so exciting from the start to the end.” He reminded the press representative by saying, “As I stated during the pre-match press conference that Al Ain players would be in full focus. If they to continue playing with this high level, the task of all our opponents would be so difficult.”
In response to a question whether he expected such a result, “All went well and as required. I do have confidence in capabilities of my team and that they are able to achieve the result that would enable them to move forward to the last eight teams stage. In the men time, I did not expect that record result. I believe that such a result is good for Al Ain team.”
During the port-match press conference, Zoran stated that, “We were keen to show our best against the Iranian opponent and we do have the desire to represent the State honorably in the continental competition, and we will wait for the draw to see our rivals in the next phase of the Asian Championship.” He added, “All the players except the international players will take a break and we will work during the coming period to find the best solutions required to pursue the sturdy results in the coming seasons.”
As for Lee Myung who played his last match and is leaving the team, he stated that “I’m not happy to see him leaving. He is one of the best players of the team and we are going to miss his efforts. However, we have to be realistic and abide by the South Korean regulations that necessitate he should join the army and do the national service.”
