Mohannad Salem Al Enezi, Al Ain and National team defender, thanked Allah and expressed his extreme happiness for reaching the AFC final and bringing joy to all Emiratis.

“After the first-leg game, I said that our assignment was not over yet, and there was still a tough game in Doha, and only after the second-leg game we could officially get to the final,” he said.

Commenting on the game proceedings, he said: “We knew that Al Jaish had nothing to lose and would unleash all their potential to delight their fans. Thankfully, we managed to redress things after Al Jaish scored twice and burst forth to the equalizer. Finally, we’ve advanced to the final.”

“God willing,” he continued, “we’ll make the best of the first-leg game of the final before we play the decisive game on HBZ Stadium, and we will please the UAE people with winning the title again after the achievement of 2003.”

He did not judge today’s achievement a surprising one; “Advancing to the final is not our final terminal; we’re looking forward to the trophy because ending as runners-up is just like ending at the bottom rank; without making a history. Therefore, we would say, like everyone else, the Asian title is our target”, he concluded.
