Al Ain will host Al Ahli KSA at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in the upcoming top football Gulf confrontation, under the theme of winning the match. The match which will be held as part of the first round of the Asian Champions League 2017 within the group stage. This match is so critical since it represents a special challenge between the two teams who strive to end this stage on top of the standing of this group where the visitors are placed first with 7 points followed by Al Ain with five points, and then Zob Ahan of Iran is placed third with 4 points and finally Bunyodkor of Uzbekistan with nil points.
On the other hand, the ore-match press conference to introduce the two teams will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the conference hall at Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain Club. The first part of the conference will be attended by Al Ain Coach along with one of the players of the starting-up line. The second part is dedicated to the Coach of Al Ahli KSA with one of the players to start at 1:30 p.m.
It was determined to hold the Technical Meeting of the match at 12:00 p.m. in the meeting room at Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain Club with the presence of AFC officials, local organizers and representatives of the two teams.
H.E. Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Chairman of Al Ain Football Club Company, emphasized that Al Ain team has achieved the highest level of awareness, responsibility and the strong desire to appear in the manner that bring honor to UAE in the Asian Championship. I do believe that Croatian Coach, Zoran Mamic, led the players to reach a high level of mental presence and readiness to fulfill all their obligations in the coming matches.
AL Hajeri stressed that the coming match to be held on Tuesday represents a special challenge for both teams placed at the top of the standing. He put it in plain words saying, “We are well aware that the AFC Champions League always require a great deal of effort and high level of concentration because they are not easy ones.” He added, “We have always full confidence in Al Ain players who are equipped with experience, and enjoy the strong charisma in the Asian confrontations. Also, Al Ain Technical Director did his homework and identified the strong and weak points of the opponent team.”
In his comment on a question about the validity of reports stating that Al Ain attempted to obtain an exception permit for Nasser Al Shamrani to participate in the match of Zob Ahan scheduled to be held in Isfahan, Iran by the end of this month, he said “I do stress the fact that Al Ain Club cannot take such a move at all based on our respect and support the Saudi authorities’ decision. Even if the case is to play in Asian Championship League in the absence of several players and not only a single player. Al Ain Club will not submit such a such an irrational request, especially the team has a large number of stars who we do have trust and confidence in their abilities and capabilities to be up to it in the biggest continental competitions. They have the strong desire to return from Iran with heads high and reserve the team’s qualifying card to the semifinal round, with Allah’s willing.”
Worth mentioning, the mission of Al Ahli KSA has already arrived in UAE on the evening of Saturday through Dubai International Airport. The team will hold their training session at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium at 07:30 p.m. on Sunday.
