A Historical Achievement

“Winning the title of this current season by the “Boss” is attributed to the highly appreciated sponsorship, significant consideration and generous support of H.H. Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the founder of the success strategy of this prestigious and lofty sport entity,” said Al Hajeri. He added: “Being crowned with the shield of AGL 2018, is a special occasion for the current generation as it is the 4th shield earned by the Club un the professionalism era. This indeed means we will have the original version of the shield for good in accordance with the AGL regulations that stipulate that any club wins the shield for three times in a row or four times discretely shall maintain the shield permanently. Amoory and his teammates have already engraved their names in the record of the golden generations who were honored to defend the logo of the “Boss” over its immaculate history and highly acclaimed achievements.”

“The head coach, players and fans understand that the limit of the “Boss” aspirations in the current season is the skies,” Al Hajeri emphasized. He pointed out: “We all are well aware of the importance of President’s Cup as the dearest competition. So, our joy and celebrations dedicated for winning the AGL shield is deferred to the moment we are crowned by the shield in the world’s most impressive and stunning football stadium on 29th April. Add to that Al Ain ambitions in the AFC Champions League has no limits, especially following the team’s fabulous performance in the last match of the stage group and being able to qualify to the quarter finals.”

The Champ’s Desire

Commenting on a question on grounds for the decline in the team’s performance during the first round of AGL in contrast with the second round, he said: “I believe that the champ team in the world of football is required during the course of the competition to overcome all the challenges they face, including absences, injuries, foreign players and tight schedule of matches. Also, the team is required to deal with all confrontations smartly to achieve the positive results regardless of the conditions they face.” He underlined: “In the first round of AGL, Al Ain was able to achieve the best results despite all circumstances. Thank go to Allah Al Might for granting us all the success and then comes the desire of the champs of the “Boss”, professionalism of the talented Croatian head coach, Zoran Mamic, the close follow-up of the administrative and medical staff, the loyal Ainawi fans and all members of this great sport entity.”

“The club that has genuine stars similar to the squad of Al Ain, they will absolutely be able to realize the aspirations of the fans inside and outside UAE and make them happy. In terms of numbers, Al Ain fans are the largest among the other UAE clubs. We do always appreciate their immense role they have always been playing in support of the “Boss” ambitions and their remarkable contribution in winning the league title,” added Al Hajeri.

Responding to a question on Al Ain players who are competing to win 10 PLC Awards, he said: “I do believe that winning the title of the league is a crucial proof that Al Ain has the best stars in the league, starting with the head coach Zoran Mamic who already outdid himself prior before other competitors, the Best Player in Asia and captain of the team “Amoory” maker of joy and pleasure, the best goalkeeper Khaled Issa who competes to win the Golden Glove Award for the fourth year in a row and the two great defenders of the “Boss” Ismael Ahmad and Mohannad Al Enezi.”

Mr. Chairman explained that Al Ain presented a new star of the UAE football this season, the international midfielder Rayan Yaslam. “As for the foreign players, Marcus Berg who is placed as the top scorer temporarily following scoring his hattrick in Al Nasr match. Also, we have the samurai warrior Tsukasa Shiotani and Al Ain’s ace card Egypt’s Hussein El Shahat, as well as elegant Brazil’s player, Caio Lucas. Definitely, all of the prove their eligibility to be part of the race to win the PLC Awards through only two foreigners were not part of this race this current season.”

With No Bias

Al Hajeri added: “I believe that the decision to exclude Mohammed Abdul Rahman from the race of winning the PLC Awards this season was not right, particularly the player exhibited a stunning and high level of performance. Personally, I consider him one of the best stars of the current season and even he outdid the foreigners of other clubs. The same applies to Ahmad Barman who deserves to be in the list.” He stressed: “In my point of view, All Ain players are something else and it was fair for them to win the title of the league as they are the best with no bias and with all due respect to all competitors of the “Boss”.

On the significant advantages of the current Arabian Gulf League, he said: “I believe that the most valuable gains of this season is the return of Al Wahda to the race to win the title of the league.” He concluded: “It is true anyway that the team’s outstanding performance sparked the competition and promoted the levels of excitement this season and the team deserved to clinch the two titles of Super Cup and Arabian Gulf Cup.”
