The match is scheduled to be held as part of Group D of the AFC Champions League 2018. Group D has also other two teams: Iran’s Esteghlal and Qatar’s Al Rayyan.

As per Croatia’s Head Coach of Al Ain FC, Zoran Mamic, technical opinion, the team’s Captain, Omar Abdul Rahman “Amoory”, will not play this coming match due to not reaching the required level of physical fitness as he did not play in the team’s last two matches in realization of the suspension decision taken by UAE Football Association. Zoran Mamic who preferred to adopt the policy of maintaining one of the most prominent stars of Al Ain FC, so his decision was to give Amoory more break time by not playing in Riyadh’s top clash, specially the new actualities of the team firms up the statement “Al Ain will prevail regardless the names” given the team’s positive strong results since the kickoff of the season in spite of the hard circumstances faced by the team due to injuries and suspensions.

Croatia’s Zoran has already selected 20 players to join Al Ain’s delegation who flew to Riyadh, namely: Khalid Issa, Mohammed Saeed Bu Senda, Daoud Suleiman, Ismail Ahmed, Mohannad Salem Al Enezi, Mohammed Ahmed, Mohamed Fayez, Saeed Jumaa, Tsukasa Shiotani, Amer Abdul Rahman, Ahmed Barman, Mohsen Abdullah, Ibrahim Diaky, Mohammed Abdul Rahman, Ryan Yaslam, Hussein El Shahat, Caio Lucas, Youssef Ahmed Mousa, Ahmed Khalil and Marcus Berg.

As for Al Hilal’s starting lineup, the team will be missing Salman Al Faraj who has suffered from twist in the ankle recently during the team’s last match against KSA’s Al Nasr. Al Hilal announced that the player needs 14 days for recovery and be able to rejoin the team. Also, Nawaf Al Abed who had a surgical operation in his adductor muscles. There are suspicions and doubts that Omar Khreibin, the top scorer of the AFC Champions League and the Best Asian Player in 2017, who seems struggling and facing bad times since the kickoff of the current football season being hit at the ankle ligaments during his team’s league match against Al Etihad one month ago.
