Al Ain FC players are scheduled to conduct their main training session at 07:00 p.m. (KSA local time) (08:00 p.m. Abu Dhabi local time) tomorrow at the “King Saud University Stadium”. The same stadium will witness the kickoff whistle of the clash match between Al Ain and KSA’ Al Hilal as part of round1 of Group D of the AFC Champions League 2018.

The qualifying technical meeting of the match is planned to be held at Prince Fahad bin Salman Media Center in Al Hilal Club facilities at 05:00 p.m. The meeting will be chaired by Chain’s Shang Shein, tasked by the AFC to be the Match Commissioner, match officials along with the two clubs’ representatives to discuss all the technical details of the important coming match. The pre-match press conference is scheduled to be held soon after the technical meeting where the two coaches and one of their key players will attend to address the media representatives on each team’s preparations.

Weighty Event

KSA’s Al Hilal and UAE’s Al Ain matches are looked at as significant events because they are one of the strong “derby” clashes in Asian champs’ competitions and they are always associated with big events organized by the two clubs. Al Ain Club Management launched during the last match between the two teams of ACL 2017 the official website of Al Ain Club in a stunning brilliant scene. Tomorrow, Al Hilal will celebrate the official inauguration of its new football field and mark the 10th confrontation between the two teams.

The “Boss” Delegation

All members of Al Ain Club delegation will fly on Monday 12th February heading to Saudi Arabia via a private jet and headed by Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Chairman of Al Ain Football Club Company.

Experiencing the highest technical and morals levels following having the injured players onboard and concluding the most successful contracts during the winter transfer window with Egypt’s Hussein El Shahat and the “international” UAE’s Ahmad Khalil, the Ainawi “Boss” has his sights set to move ahead with the positive strong results. Such a great level that enabled the team to be at the top spot of the Arabian Guld League with the beginning of the second round of the current season.

On the other hand, KSA’s Al Hilal is experiencing the worst times at the moment despite the fact that they are placed first in the standing table of KSA’s League. Al Hilal Club celebrated the inauguration of its new stadium on the sidelines of the team’s first training session at the King Saud University Stadium. The training session was closed based on a request made by Argentina’s Ramon Diaz, head coach of Al Hilal. The stars of the team were so keen to take photographs before they are spotted by the cameras on the club’s official website capturing this historical moment using their personal mobiles to take selfies.

The Saudi club has announced recently that the international midfielder Salman Al Faraj will not play this coming match due to a sprained ankle during the last match against Al Nasr. Also, Al Hilal left back Hassan Kadesh was not added to the Asian list because of suffering from a thigh injury. Al Hilal will also miss Nawaf Al Abed in this coming match due to injury. Indeed, media reports stated that the medical staff at Al Hilal are done with rehabilitation process of Abdul Malik Al Khibri to replace Salman Al Faraj.

10th Confrontation

The two big “Bosses”, Al Ain and Al Hilal, played against each other 9 times in the new current version of the AFC Champions League kicked off by 2003. Ain won four matches and Al Hilal won Al Ain four times, while they drew only in one match.

In the past 9 matches, Al Ain and Al Hilal scored a total of 21 goals. Al Ain scored 9 goals and Al Hilal scored 12. The top scorers of both teams are Al Ain former player, Nasser Al Shamrani and Eduardo Da Silva who scored three goals.

Al Ain team was crowned with the title of the new version of the AFC Champions League only once, while Al Hilal did not succeed in winning the continental title in its new version since its inception despite playing in the final match twice, that is in 2014 and in the past season in 2017. Indeed, Al Ain played the final match of this championship three times in 2003, 2005 and 2016.
