H.E Mohamed Hareb Al Muheirbi, the UAE ambassador in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, believes that Al Ain will not miss the chance of competing for the 2017 AFC Champions League title thanks to its highly experienced players.
He believes the Emirati football clubs are qualified to regain the Asian title following the steps of the 2003 title won by Al Ain. He supported his opinion by Al Ain and Al Ahli teams who reached the AFC Champions League finals in 2 versions in a row; “It’s quite likely that they can stand on the podium, but they have powerful competitors in particular the Japanese and Chinese teams. Therefore, they need to maximize their efforts and maintain a high level of attentiveness if they have to make that dream come true,” he said.

3 Pieces of Advice
Al Muheirbi advised Emirati teams competing in the 2017 AFC Champions League title to have great self-confidence that they will be good representatives of the UAE, to turn the page of the AGL competition and to unleash their potential.

One Family
Highlighting the UAE embassy’s role, he said: “Guided by the instructions of our visionary leadership, we’ll spare no effort to support any team that represents our cherished country abroad. As one Emirati family, we’ll make all our resources available and provide all possible conveniences so our team can showcase the advanced level of the Emirati football.”

The Boss Experience
He reiterated that all Emirati teams representing UAE in the Asian championship have good chances of winning the title; “However, Al Ain has better chances due to their greater experience and reaching advanced stages toward the title in the Asian tournaments. Therefore, Al Ain’s rivals need to play their best because they’re playing against one of the top Asian teams and this make Al Ain’s job much harder. I wish all the best to our Emirati teams.” He concluded.
