Amouri apologizes and denies any personal intentions
In a statement to the press after having been awarded the ‘Asian Footballer of the Year 2016’ Title, Al Ain FC captain Omar Abdurrahman confirmed that he was much more desirous to win the 2016 AFC title with his team than winning this personal title; “However, it will motivate me more to play my best in future,” he commented.
Addressing Al Ain FC fans, Omar said: “First, I’d like to extend my apologies to Al Ain FC fans for losing the AFC title. I hope they will not be disappointed but I’d like to see them in the stadium supporting us in large numbers as they always do. I promise them the team will come back to compete strongly in the local tournaments and the next AFC league.”
“However, we thank Allah for everything; we did our best but failed to win the title. Hopefully, we’ll make up for it next edition.” He concluded.
