Choi Kang-Hee, the coach of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, said he tried to curb Al Ain FC players by all possible means notably by assigning some of his men to keep a close eye on the playmaker Omar Abdurrahman throughout the game.

He, however, utterly denied to have asked his players to fall on the ground to waste time since it was enough for them to hold the Al Ain FC to a draw.

“Some of my players might have fallen down during the game, but they were not feigning. We’ve been squeezed by Al Ain FC players who had fouled us. We focused on curbing Omar Abdurrahman since all the attacks start from him”, Choi Kang said in the post-match press conference.

He noted that claiming the AFC Champions League is a dream which came true after waiting for a long time expressing deep pride of his players who achieved the victory in spite of challenging encounter.

“The fact that Al Ain FC wasted a penalty kick has freed us from the pressure. The game was exceptionally tough, tensions high; but I worked hard to comfort my men. I think we delivered a good performance and followed the plan as required. Al Ain FC outperformed us during the first 30 minutes, however we managed to fight off and score the lead”, he explained.
