My Best Goals Are Always in Matches Against Al Wasl and the Dearest Was in Espérance sportive de Tunis
A decent leader, a beloved person, and a close friend to the hearts of all his fellow players. You find him always keen to check the conditions of all the members of the mission and not just the team players – beginning with his practical sessions with the administrative and technical staff, through his daily tour of the clinic, his nice talks with the medical staff, and everyone without any exception: the logistical and media support team, mission officials and even the team members who follow transportation and the team kits; in residence, training area and match stadium. He is Bandar Al Ahbabi, the captain of Al Ain team. He speaks little but well known for doing a lot. We hosted him in “The Best” and we came out with the following:
Bandar Al Ahbabi, captain of the Al Ain Club team, started the interview by saying: “First, I would like to express, in my name and all my colleagues, the players of the first football team at Al Ain Club, our deep thanks, gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Hazaa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Rulers of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, First Deputy of the Club President and the Al Ainawi Honor Council, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, for his highness care, support and interest for this this great club, which has been leading it to reach the highest levels of success. I would also like to thank His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, Chairman of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Affairs of Al Ain Football Club Company, for the close follow-up given to both the club and the first team and his keenness to create a positive atmosphere in the team.
Best Goal
There is the best goal I scored and another which I consider as the most important. The best goal was against Al Wasl Club, in fact they are two goals, both scored last season, and both are the most beautiful. Regarding the most important goal, the one I scored while playing against Espérance sportive de Tunisia in 2018 Clubs’ World Cup.
The best moment
Being as the first Gulf Club in the final of Clubs’ World Cup was the best moment in my football life. It was a great honor too. But practically, as long as I wear the Al Ain Club logo, I always look forward to better and more beautiful moments. Also and as a result of the Club’s presidency sponsorship, the available capabilities and the unlimited fans support, everyone in the club has big aspirations and there is no end for our ambitions.
Best Goal Making
Sometimes I could not remember well, but I think it was in front of Al Wasl Club, because Laba’s move was at an appropriate time, and the pass came at a critical time of the match.
Best Comment
All commentators are doing their best and they are highly appreciated, beginning with Ali Saeed Al Kaabi, whom I enjoy his commentary, as well as Amer Abdullah and Faris Awadh.

I will not reveal a secret if I tell you that the atmosphere in “Spain camp” is very wonderful and the spirit of the family is always there. great efforts are made by all members of the mission. Administrative and technical staff, medical staff, logistical support team and players are ready. All requirements are available and we are well aware that we are heading into an uneasy season Also we should not forget our global coach high training capabilities and great experience. And We ask God Almighty to succeed in achieving the aspirations of our team and the happiness of the loyal fans of Al Ain during the new season.
Asian Championship
The Asian championship is totally different from the local competitions. Everyone in the team is working for the same goal. I am confident that if you ask any Asian football team about Al Ain, the answer will be: Al Ain is a great club. We are well aware of what is required of us in representing the country in an honorable manner. We also love such great challenges and competitions. You will find a team that is up to the responsibility and challenge. We are required to diligently and our confidence in each other is great as a team system consisting of management, technical staff, players and fans to provide what is consistent, with the aspirations and support of our sheikhs, to make our fans happy.
Academy players
I believe that the rising players from Al Ain Football Club Academy, to the ranks of the first team, are qualified to succeed and continue the journey in defending the club’s slogan, because they are imbued with the Al Ain culture that is based on a professional mentality and winning titles. Certainly, having the chance to play with the first team, citizens and foreigners, they will achieve a lot. I wish them all success in achieving their personal ambitions and giving extra forward push to the club.
The decision to leave the team
It was a difficult decision for Bandar Al Ahbabi, when I was informed to leave the club and look for another club. It was one of the most difficult moments that I ever had. I felt so sad, and I will not reveal a secret if I told you that I could not understand what is going on. But ,at that moment, I controlled myself, set my goals and took my decision to play better in order to go back and wear Al Ain shirt and defend its logo. By the grace of God, my dream of returning to this entity has come true, and I wish any player who graduated from Al Ain Academy, who did not have the opportunity to continue to work towards achieving the childhood goal while he is an academy player, by returning to Al Ain Club.
The Biggest Dream
It is difficult to describe my feelings when I received the call to return to Al Ain Club. At that time I felt as achieving my best dream. Without any thinking, no hesitation ,I accept to go back to Al Ain Club, because I am the son of the academy and I know well the value of the place to which I will return. It is my big home.
The Best Fan Song
I believe that the voice of Al Ain fans, when the team scored a goal, is the most beautiful song. I always hope that our fans joy, which motivate us as players to fight in the field and give our best, will stay forever. I also want to tell our fans that we are looking forward to seeing them again to enjoy their songs and support which make Al Ain Club the best team.
