“We are highly motivated to play tomorrow’s confrontation and we are all so eager to show signs of our team’s robust performance and demonstrate our genuine character in front of the home team on their own turf and among their fans and announcing our official qualification to the next stage of the AFC Championship League,” said Al Ain’s Swedish international striker, Markus Berg.

Responding to a question on the impact of missing the penalty shot-out in the first leg match against Al Rayyan, he said: “Al Ain is currently at its best levels and this proved by the team’s great and strong results they have already achieved in all local and continental competitions. Our goal in the coming match against the home team is so clear cut, that is to qualify to the stage beyond the groups stage.” He concluded: “As for the penalty kick, I believe that wasting a penalty kick is not always the end, it may give the player a great incentive to restore his brilliance and boost his level of concentration.”
