The Brazilian player of Al Ain, Ciao Lucas, stressed that his team is able to move forward to the quarterfinal stage. He further elaborates by saying, “In such strong challenges, everyone is required to double his efforts and contribute from his position to achieve the great result that guarantees the team’s qualification to the next stage of the toughest competition of the AFC Champions League. I mean by everyone the players, the technical and administrative staff, the medical staff, the team’s fans and all members of Al Ain Club.”

He added, “As for Monday’s confrontation, we are all well equipped with the strong desire to win besides the unlimited differences in Al Ain’s potentials compared to the competitor’s. All the team’s players are well aware that they are required to demonstrate their spirit of fighting, to be cautious and to have a high level of concentration at every moment of the game in order to achieve our objective in the most important and final matches of the current season.”

Commenting on a question concerning the team’s level of readiness to face Esteghlal Tehran, he said, “Any observer of Al Ain’s first leg match in Iran he is almost ascertained that Al Ain was better than the opponent and we were so close to fly back home with a positive result in the advantage of the team. However, in football you need sometimes the good luck, especially in the front line. Indeed, it is not a secret to say that I am not happy by my level of performance during that confrontation, but I promise everyone to do my best contribute along with my teammates to Al Ain’s qualification and payback our debt twice to the opponent team.”

He also pointed out, “All arrangements for the coming match are running as planned under the command of the great coach, Zoran Mamic, and our morale are high. Yet, we are looking forward to the outstanding support from the Ainawi fans. I do not think they need an invitation to attend the match because the current circumstances require a solid presence and robust support for the team so that we can invest in the two important factors of playing on our ground and among our fans in the right manner, especially in our matches in this continental championship.”

He went on to say, “In the first leg match, the fans of the opponent team had an influential role on the players’ performance through their incessant support prior, during and after the end of the match. Although we were listening to enthusiastic cheers that do not understand by more than 65,000 fans at Azadi Stadium, we imagined that they are the lovers of Al Ain tea who are keen to wish us the best of luck and at the same time our willingness to do our best but we were in deep in need of good luck. I do believe that it is the time to show the real genuine capabilities of the Ainawi in front of the opponent team. It is a fact that Al Ain’s fans are very influential and significant in encouraging the team, and this motivates us as players and have the required impact on the opponent team.”

He concluded by calling for Al Ain fans to attend the match and exhibit their nonstop support for the team before the beginning of the match, specially during the warm-up exercises which precedes the starting kick-off. Such cheers and support are a clear message coming from the fans stands, as well as they are principal incentive for the team players to do their best before returning to the changing room. He finally said, “We promise everyone to do our best in the pitch to achieve the result leading the team to qualify to the following stage in the most important and last match of the current season.”
