Al Ain Brazil’s Caio Canedo confirmed that his team’s match against Hatta is an essential challenge for them while playing a new game and in a different competition compared to the President’s Cup when the team played against Al Wasl last week.

“We consider all our matches as finals, considering that the difference between the leading team of the standing table and we are only five points. Therefore, we are required not to lose any points to put firm hands at the top spot with all due respect to the competitors’ ambitions,” Caio Canedo stated in the media conference.

In response to a question about his excellent performance against his former team, Al Wasl, he said: “We are keen to do our best against all competitors. I played against Al Wasl in defense of the Al Ain club badge and I will play against Hatta with the same principle. The good thing is to score goals that give you the important motivation and incentive to continue pushing yourself to the limit.”

As for the fans’ criticism he received as a result of celebrating scoring against his former team, he said: “I was not disappointed as much as I was surprised by the negative reactions against my family and me. I celebrated scoring my goal as that is linked to feelings during the match which witnessed high level of enthusiasm as the opponent took the lead and then we came back to the match by scoring our third goal. The same happened when they scored their fourth goal, and we were able to level the result.”

He concluded his statement by stressing that his celebration was with the Ainawi fans and that his respect for Al Wasl and the club fans did not change. “Today, I am Al Ain Club player, and I am required to defend the badge of the Boss. I am happy to be here with Al Ain.”
