Al-Ain’s ‘international’ defender Ismail Ahmed congratulated everyone on the UAE 45th National Day, asking Allah the Almighty to keep safe our cherished country and wise leaders and to bestow the UAE with permanent safety and security.

He also congratulated the team leader Omar Abdurrahman for deservedly winning the ‘Asian Footballer of the Year’ Award which signifies his excellent role in Al Ain FC and the UAE National Team. “All of us are extremely proud of our leader for winning such a prestigious award,” he commented.

He pointed out that their high sense of responsibility will drive them to play their best in order to snatch the three points from Al Wasl.

Admitting that the match won’t be easy, Ismail was confident they could take down Al Wasl. “We’ll be fortified with determination, responsibility and 90-minute vigilance; besides, some of our teammates who were kept away by injuries will play again. We also look forward to a great support as usual from our fans” he added.

Asked about the defensive mistakes they made in the last two games, Ismail absolved their coach of responsibility; “Zlatko always provides us with the proper instructions; but a lapse of focus for a fraction of a second might cost us dearly; so everyone is responsible. As ‘international’ players, we are supposed to be entirely vigilant,” he explained.

Ismail concluded by begging everyone to support Douglas Dyanfres; “We are working as one team; Douglas is a talented striker and deserves to be backed up appropriately. We promise to spare no efforts to achieve the good results.”
