“The recent “derby” match against Al Wahda was tough, and I believe all the players’ performance was good,” Al Ain Team defender, Rafael Pereira, stated in the pre-match press conference dedicated to his team’s match against Al Wahda as part of quarterfinal stage of ADIB Cup.

Ahead of the match scheduled to be held Friday 16 Dec. 2022, at 19:30, he stressed: “Now, we should be well prepared to do what we are meant to do to qualify for the next match and go through in this competition and defend the title of we won last season.”

As for the players’ morale in preparation for the next match, he said: “All players enjoy a high level of concentration and are fully ready for the next match. We will spare no effort to carry out the head coach’s instruction which for sure serves the team’s best interest to achieve a positive result and keep going in this competition.”

He addressed a special message to the Ainawi fans: “I was not surprised to see the fans in substantial numbers in Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in our recent match against Al Wahda. But, of course, this a derby match, and I hope to see Ainawi fans in the stadium.”
He signed off by emphasizing: “Al Ain fans are always the source of our pride, and we feel happy seeing them behind the team. Their support means a lot to us, and we will do our best to draw a smile on their faces and make them proud of our squad.”
