Egypt’s player Hussein El Shahat said that his team’s confrontation against Al Wahda represents another important challenge for both teams in their competition to lead the standing table of the Arabian Gulf League. He pointed out: “Not to forget that this is my first “Derby” match in the league.”

“The team’s preparations for tonight’s match went well and in the right manner and amidst high morale among all the team members and a robust desire to achieve the strong positive result to win the three points, particularly we are playing at our ground turf and among our fans. I have no doubt that the fans’ support for the “Boss” against our rival team “Wahdawi” will be massive,” said he.

He added: “We do understand what we are meant to do in the pitch during the match 90 minutes to achieve our desired goals. No doubt that football always rewards the team with better performance and high levels of concentration in the pitch. Therefore, we will exhibit the spirit of challenge and fighting and redouble our efforts to win the match. We provoke to Allah Al Mighty to grant us success in this top clash match to make the fans happy.”

Commenting on a question on the team’s conditions following the recent first loss in the league, he said: “It is certain that big teams are always required to win. Such a request is not only limited to the fans, but also from everyone. The team’s players, technical, administrative and medical staff and all members of the club are working hard to create the proper grounds to enable them to achieve the best results that are consistent with the real ambitions. It is a reality that “Ainawis” always experience in all local and continental challenges.

He also stated: “It is likely in football to lose but handling such incidents varies from one team to another. We, in Al Ain, have already made our word to rearrange things up to code and take advantage of the lessons learned from all mistakes we committed in the past stages, and above all to redouble efforts to in the coming challenges where there is no room to lose any single point, taking in consideration that we have already approached the season’s final critical stages and teams are ready to reap the benefits of their efforts as chances of compensation are so few.”

“It is not a secret anyway to tell you that I did not sleep following my team’s first loss in the league against Al Sharjah, I watched the match for several times to identify what went wrong. Also, I am preoccupied by the idea how we could maintain our leading top position in the standing table.” Stated El Shahat. He also said: “Unquestionably, we are required to deal with every confrontation in the next stage separately and with high focus.”

El Shahat called on Al Ain fans to powerfully support the players in the upcoming confrontation. He signed off: “We promise everyone to do our best in the pitch and we provoke to Allah Al Mighty to grant us success and be able to achieve the “Boss’” local and continental aspirations at the end of the current season.”
