In an exclusive press statement to Al Ain Club’s official website, Al Ain young player Hazem Mohammed Abbas expressed his sincerest gratitude and appreciation for Al Ain Club’s senior management for the trust they show in his skills and for granting him the chance to be a member of the Boss squad.

He added: “I would also like to thank Al Ain Club football school and academy sectors for their support and assistance at all times, and the great and generous support of H.H. Sheikh Hazaa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, First Deputy President of the Club and the Al Ain Honorary Council, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, and the follow-up and interest of H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, Chairman of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Steering Committee of Al Ain Football Club Company.”

In response to a question about his feeling when signing the first professional contract in his football career with Al Ain Club, he said: “Frankly, the feeling is indescribable no matter how hard I try to express it.”

He went on to say: “My dream finally comes true, and I am part of the Boss first team. I am honored to be a member of the biggest Club in Asia. I can say it is an achievement fulfilled with the grace of God and then the interest of the surroundings around me, beginning with my family and the Club, diligence, perseverance, and focus. Indeed, signing a professional contract with Al Ain Club greatly motivates any promising and young player. I am well aware of the massive responsibility I hold on my shoulder following signing a professional contract.”

Commenting on a question about the most important reasons that led him to sign a professional contract with Al Ain, he said: “As I mentioned to you at the beginning that joining the first team came with the grace of God Almighty, and then the great interest that the school and academy players receive from the Club’s management, and the constant follow-up from the family at home. I have also to say that diligence and working to achieve your dreams in football as a career, and my father honestly did not prevent me from playing football to focus on studying only but helped and encouraged me to strike a balance between my school and university and football. Thanks also should go to my coaches at Al Ain football school and academy who gave and spared no effort to guide me at this important stage in my football career.”
“I gained a lot during the short period I spent in the first team camp, particularly commitment to time, showing respect to all the team’s rules and instructions, attention to details during lectures, and adhering to schedules and bedtime, in addition to the diet system we must follow. Since we were junior players and all know that Al Ain Club is a big sport, educational, social, and cultural entity.”

Hazem hailed his teammates and the coaching teams, saying: “Playing with great players and coaching teams of high caliber led by a world-class coach and a professional administrative staff with the required experience in dealing with players and advising them is a great added value. They push everyone to the limit and guide you on the right track to be a professional player. During this short period, I learned a lot from everyone.”

As for his goals and aspirations with Al Ain, he said: “Everyone who lives in Al Ain city finds himself a fan of the Club by default. This cannot be compared to the school and academy players who have had a strong emotional relationship since childhood with this entity.”

“My dream was to join the first team. My dream is certainly getting bigger, and my ambitions are increasing. Today I strive to be in the starting lineup as reaching the summit is not easy, but staying there requires boosting my efforts, and the reasons are available to achieve my goals in Al Ain, the big Club.”

He pointed out that he is well aware of what he is meant to do, and his goals can only be achieved by showing commitment, discipline, and redoubling efforts. He stressed that dedication and hard work should be on and off the pitch, along with taking advantage of playing with great players and the administrative and technical staff to avoid falling into any problem that leads to a retreat and a drop in performance.

He added: “The balance between two important things in your life is always difficult, so it was not easy for me to balance studying and football. However, it is all about time management and having a strict and clear schedule. This was of a great positive impact on my success in both my academic and football career.”

Commenting on a question about selecting him to join the away training camp in Spain, he said: “It is not a secret to tell you that when I was notified of this decision, I felt dread and anxiety. When I joined the first team, I found the family spirit among the players and one family among the coaching and administrative staff and the players is prevalent. Everyone here gives you the right advice, and I was overwhelmed with joy and happiness.”

Hazem concluded his statement: “I hope to meet all the expectations of everyone on the team. As football academy players, we owe thanks to God Almighty and the sponsorship and support of the Club’s senior management and to the fans who always support, follow, and advise us. It is a fact that no one can deny that Al Ain fans are the best fans ever.”
