Following beating the guests, Al Nasr, by 2-1, the newly-appointed head coach of Al Ain, Spain’s Juan Carlos Garrido, took the opportunity in the post-match press conference to extend his sincerest appreciation to his team’s warriors and the loyal Ainawi fans for their great efforts and for the deserved victory. He also expressed his pleasure for the great positive result and his pride to be the head coach of the Al Ain FC. “We are all required to win all our confrontations for nothing except we are the Boss. This makes us obliged to further improve our performance and be committed to our strategy in handling all our future matches through dealing with each match separately. Indeed, I hope that we will keep going and achieve our goals by the end of the current season.”

He added: “The match was balanced. In the first half, we did well until the moment the match referee whistled while pointing to the penalty point to the advantage of our opponent who took the lead for only one minute. That penalty kick was about to be a negative turning point in tonight’s match, but it is the Boss who enjoys the strong charisma in the field and fight genuinely and the players were able to equalize swiftly and be back to the match atmosphere.”

“In the second half, our mission was not that easy, and I relied on Ibrahim Diaky to make the difference. Prior sending him to the pitch, I talked to him about how important he is to the team, given his high-caliber and quality skills and his extensive filed experience. Indeed, he was the man and was able to do it. He did help the team to take the lead in the dying minutes of the match. I do believe this is a deserved victory for my team and absolutely it will have a massive positive impact on the team’s performance in the coming matches.”

Commenting on the question on whether he is satisfied by the way of implementing his instructions on the pitch and if has any comments on the team’s performance, he said: “Absolutely, I am so happy and satisfied by my team’s performance and the way that the players implemented my instructions, given the fact that I am here only since one week. I did talk to the players and underlined the fact that we are required to work together to further improve the team’s performance and have the mentality that help us to achieve the great positive results in our quest to clinch titles. This will not happen unless we show the team’s genuine fighting spirit and boost the players’ level of concentration regardless the conditions and challenges we face.”

“It is certain that all the coming matches will not be easy. However, it is important to be back on the right track of victories which an important thing in the world of football,” he said in response to a question on how important this victory is prior playing against Shabab Al Ahli Dubai and the Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal. He went on to say: “Winning matches always boost the players’ motivations to keep going, achieve the best results, redouble their efforts and show their authentic fighting spirit. I believe winning your matches shows that the team is on the right track.”

He concluded the press conference by addressing a message to the loyal fans: “I would like to thank all the loyal fans who were so keen to support the team from the standings of the stadium and through the social media platforms. Personally, I feel I am welcomed by the Ainawi fans and I would like to congratulate them again for tonight’s deserved victory.”
