“We are playing our last match in the AFC Champions League 2020, and we are well aware that we have to fight till the end as per our strategy in all matches we play,” Coach Pedro Emmanuel opened the pre-match press conference dedicated for Al Ain FC the last match against Saudi Arabia Al Nasr.

He added: “We are going to play against one of the best teams of Group D with high-quality players. They seek to win the title of this edition of ACL-2020. We are fully ready for this upcoming confrontation and would do our best to show our genuine potentials. Indeed, our sights are set to win the match’s three points.”

In response to his team’s results, given the tight schedule of the groups stage, he said: “Before we started our matches in this competition, we know well that it is the small details of such big competitions make the difference. Also, not to forget, we are playing in the toughest groups of the ACL-2020. It is a fact that we played to win our opponents and snatch the three points of each match. However, flowing the draw result in the round 3 match, we fought aggressively to score in the second leg matches. We took the risk and played openly but waste lots of chances. This resulted in conceding goals, and as I stated in previous conferences, who scores first plays with a better level of mental concentration.”

Pedro pointed out that when he signed to Al Ain FC as a head coach, he knew well that he would face many challenges and that he knows what he is meant to do as a head coach with high ambitions to win titles each season.

He went on to say: “While all competitors kicked their training camps earlier and played official matches, we were experiencing a different situation. This made us deal with such circumstances realistically as any other big club. I won the trust of the Club’s management and Ainawi fans and will do our best to achieve the goals of our big club throughout the upcoming matches.”

Pedro concluded his statement by emotional statements when he compared the matches without fans as gardens with no flowers. “Absence of fans does not only impact the players, but also the coaching and administrative teams. Football teams play for their fans, and the real enjoyment would be incomplete unless they are there standing firmly behind their teams.”

He signed off by saying, “we are missing the Ainawi fans, and we know that the situation is difficult and hope we are back to normal soon.”
