H.E. Ghanem Mubarak Al Hajeri, Chairman of Al Ain Club Football Company, expressed his pleasure by the performance of Al Ain squad during their match against Algeria’s ES Sétif held on Tuesday 31st July 2018. He also commended their impressive level of readiness given the away training camp just started recently. “This proves that the technical and physical training sessions are impressive at all levels. This also proves that the players are doing their best to meet the Club’s expectations and are fully committed and held liable to fulfill their obligations. Indeed, all of this enabled them to fight strongly during their recent match,” said he.

“I am so happy with the players’ high spirit and morals despite the obstacles and challenges they have been facing recently, particularly issues of concern raised by sports observers and fans,” added Al Hajeri. He assured all players by stating: “However, we reach an agreement with all players whose contracts came to an end, as well as those whose contracts are about to come to an end. As for those selected by the Head Coach, we are still waiting for his final technical report to sort out their contracts and consider the possibility to join them to the squad of the first team. Hope all will be on the right track sooner and in the right manner that satisfy all parties.”

On the result of the first leg match against ES Sétif, he commented: “As I stated earlier, the performance was satisfactory and far better than expected compared to the players’ level of readiness, taking in consideration the absence of key players. Yet, the team was not lucky enough to achieve the desired positive result compared to their superiority and robust performance. Surely, we hope that the team will be able to compensate their loss and turn the table in the return match and make all the Ainawi Nation happy through qualifying to the next stage of the championship.”

Acknowledgement & Appreciation

Al Hajeri also expressed his sincerest gratitude and appreciation to UAFA and UAEFA for their understanding of the team’s conditions as soon as they become aware of the necessity to retain certain key international players in the preseason camp which will have negative impact on the team’s performance. “We all do thank them for their understanding of the situation. Certainly, we are partners and we look forward to achieving clear goals. We all communicate through official and nonofficial channels with sights set to achieve our desired one goal, i.e. to reach the highest level and create the glory of our national clubs and UAE national team.”

Al Hajeri underlined: “We all hope that Al Ain team will reach the required level of readiness, especially the squad will miss certain key players in the coming second leg match. However, I believe it is a great opportunity for the young players to prove their skills and potentials and be among the choices of the head coach in the coming season which will have a busy and tight schedule. We will work side by side with the technical staff to fill all gaps, given that we have lots of challenges in certain positions.” Al Hajeri expressed his optimism by saying: “When all the first team players rejoin the team when they are done with their missions with the UAE National First and Olympic teams, the “Boss” will be able to overcome all the obstacles.”

Major Challenges

On the major challenges he said that Al Ain has been facing, he stated: “The observer of the first leg match will be sure that the team need to enhance the front line.” He further explained: “As you know, following releasing Ahmad Khalil and Yousef Ahmad, in addition to Ali Eid who joined Dinamo Zagreb on loan. As for Ali Eid, it is expected that he will gain lots of benefits as well as the club and UAE football sector through his new real professional experience in one of the strongest European leagues for years to come simply because he signed a five-year contract with Al Ain. I have no doubt that the Olympic player, Mohammed Khalfan, will have a similar opportunity. Indeed, there are many other young players who try to prove themselves in the field and the head coach is so happy to see them in the team’s lineup. Finally, we are still waiting for the executive list of residents and born in UAE players who were selected to join Al Ain team.”

Longstanding Relationships

H.E. Mr. Chairman expressed his sincere appreciation for the great efforts exerted by Croatian Head Coach of Al Ain, Zoran Mamic, to further enhance and sustain Al Ain Club’s relationships with Dinamo Zagreb Club and the Croatian Football Association. He stated: “Zoran’s sincere efforts resulted in hosting part of Al Ain Club’s away preseason camp by Dinamo Zagreb, including hosting the first and leg matches of the Round 32 of the Arab Club Champions Cup in Maksimir Stadium of Dinamo Zagreb Club.” He added: “We hope to further promote and enhance the close relationships between Al Ain and Dinamo Zagreb And the Croatian Football Association and invest in such a relationship in the manner that enable the “Bos”, UAE football sector and all concerned parties to keep pace with the signs of development and achieve the desired goals.”
