H.E Mohamed Obeid ‘Hammad’, Board member of Al Ain FC Company and Supervisor of Al Ain First and Reserve Teams, denied the news recently circulated by media outlets about concluding a contract with Al Jazeera footballer Abdullah Moussa.
“All reports about current negotiations are rumors based on assumptions. The media needs to stick with accuracy and credibility in order to provide flawless premium services,” he said.
“The transfer window is still open which paves the way for rumors about prospective deals and negotiations to strengthen the team with the needed elements as per the report made by Coach Zlatko about the club’s needs in the next phase, which was discussed with the Pro League Committee before submitted to the Board of Director of Al Ain FC Company,” he added.
He made clear that the Club will openly disclose to his fans any deal via its official channels, once this deal is endorsed by all parties and the relative procedures completed.
Hammad highly praised the Club’s left winger Khalid Abdurrahman as one of the team’s basic pillars and loyal members who can keep on adding the desired value for a few more seasons. “It would be illogical to give him away,” he commented, ruling out any loan deal.
He underlined how harmful these rumors can be for the Club as contracting players or giving them away is more difficult than some might think. “All players signed by Al Ain were entrusted by the Club’s management, and it isn’t uncommon to have one player for one season, who will play against you in the next one,” he continued, in response to rumors about Dyanfres Douglas leaving the team within the winter window transfer.
“Al Ain is unique for the family spirit which bonds the members together and eventually led them to achieve remarkable results at both the local and Asian levels through impressive performance. Therefore, the management and technical staff, players and fans retain mutual confidence,” he noted.
Hammad pointed out that just like many players in the AGL, Senegalese footballer Makhete Diop has expressed desire to join Al Ain based on his deep acknowledgment of the high-status of the Club. However, he joined another club.
“Diop’s deal with Al Ain was not concluded due to some details which contradict his own interest. All deals made by Al Ain FC are based on clear bases rather than on the desire to contract,” he concluded.
