Al Ain’s Croatian coach looked uncontended with the one point his squad gained from a 1-1 draw with Al Ahli at the Arabian Gulf League today evening at HBZ Stadium; “However, we’re still in a good position with two postponed matches still to come,” he consoled.
Commenting on the undesired result, Zlatko said the match was challenging like all ‘Derbies’. “After the first scoreless half, we scored in the second half, dominated the proceedings and were closer to cushion our lead with another goal, but unfortunately, we were drawn back to square No. 1 when we conceived the equalizer. One point is unsatisfactory to us, but it’s fair in Derbies,” he explained.
He was dismayed by the tension and friction that marked the match; “I wonder why such incidents marks football matches; we’re living in an ideal country where all people are supposed to demonstrate mutual respect; no need for that tension!” he commented.
He concluded with a message of apology to Al Ain fans who as usual cheered the team in a wonderful manner before, during and after the match; “I’m really sorry for gaining one point only; we’ll do our best to shake it off and get a better result that meets your expectations when we play against Al Nasr in the President’s Cup.” He concluded.
