Requested from the referees to maintain the rights of the clubs and protect the players in matches

The team suffered from a manifest injustice from the referees in the first and second rounds of the League

Referees’ errors and reversible decisions influenced Al Ain and the final result

Mohammad Obaid Hammad, member of the Steering Committee of Al Ain Football Club Affairs Management and the Supervisor of Al Ain First Team and the Reserve Team emphasized that Al-Ain decided to submit an official request to assign its two upcoming matches against Ajman and Sharjah scheduled for the third and fourth rounds, respectively, of ADNOC Pro League to foreign referees, pointing out at the same time that the club’s request may extend to all the team’s matches in ADNOC Pro League.

In press statements published on Al-Ain FC official website, Hammad stated that Al Ain submitted a “statement record” draft to the UAE Football Association and the UAE Pro League due to the damage borne by the team in the beginning of its journey in ADNOC Pro League. Moreover, he expressed his astonishment of the refereeing decisions in the first team’s matches against Baniyas and Hatta.

Al Ain team supervisor stated that the refereeing injustice suffered by the team in two sequential matches is unacceptable and necessitates taking actions to minimize such cases, maintain the club’s rights and protect our players in the matches, regardless of the final result of those matches.

Hammad emphasized that the referees’ decisions, including VAR referees, assigned with Hatta-Al Ain match were not convincing or comprehensible for everyone, due to not blowing for two obvious penalties in addition to canceling a valid goal for Al Ain on grounds of an offside in that match. Moreover, there are some cases associated with reversible decisions, including the yellow card for Eric in the second half, although the replay indicated that Eric suffered from an explicit violation by the opponent player, which would give Al Ain a direct free kick, not that card received by the player in the match.

Al Ain team supervisor declared that those recurrent refereeing decisions in the first half influenced the performance of the team which controlled over the whole match, starting with not giving two penalties along with canceling the third goal, which was among the reasons that influenced the team’s performance in the second half and the final result of the match.

In conclusion, Hammad emphasized that Al Ain requested the relevant Arbitration Committee of the UAE Football Association, in its “statement record” draft, to maintain the rights of the teams that allocated financial investments and made huge efforts in order to achieve their targets and delight their fans.
