Al Ain’s defender, Kwame Atoun, stressed that the team’s preparations are proceeding in a regular and highly serious manner. Everyone is putting in extra effort during training sessions under the guidance of the team’s coach, as they prepared themselves for the upcoming match against Al Bataeh.

This match, scheduled for the evening after tomorrow, at the latter’s stadium, forms part of the first leg of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cupcompetition. Kwame expressed his hopes for the team to deliver the required performance on the field, a performance that would lead the team to a positive outcome.

Our goal at the club has been set since the preparation phase of the season,” he continued. “When I talk about the team’s goals, I don’t mean only the players, but also the coaching staff, management, and the fans. We all enter any tournament with the aim of directly competing for the title. In short, our goal is the cup, nothing less.”

Responding to a question about the team’s solid defensive performance in their recent league match, he said “In my belief, the collective focus shown by all team members is the reason. Our defensive system isn’t composed solely of the goalkeeper and the backline; it starts with the attack, which we have trained well on this aspect through intense training sessions under the coach’s guidance. We’ve played as a one team, which enabled us to maintain a clean sheet.”

He concluded, saying, “Since the start of the preparation phase this season, we’ve enjoyed continuous support and strong backing from our loyal fans of Al Ain. This deserves praise and appreciation. I hope to witness a massive fan turnout in our upcoming match against Al Bataeh. I’ll be delighted to see the fans in the stadium and promise they’ll leave the rival team’s stadium with joy.”
