Erik Jorgens de Menezes, Al-Ain FC player, asserted that his team’s preparations to face Sharjah, in a match that is scheduled to take place on tomorrow Saturday at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in the 17th round of ADNOC Pro League, are going very well, explaining: “We are all are training with a great desire and an immense seriousness in executing coach’s technical directions to continue claiming positive results. Also, we are well aware how important this stage is for the team, starting with Sharjah match after a long stoppage period, which spanned over two weeks.”
Commenting on a question on how to deal with the tight matches fixture during the past period, he said: “Al-Ain is a big club and is required to claim titles by finding the suitable solutions to face all challenges, starting with injuries, tight matches fixture and others. In my opinion, the current adopted policy at our team, which is to bestow trust over a great many number of members, is extremely suitable to face the circumstances of the tight matches fixture, being very helpful in distributing physical effort between all team players; it has also proved practically successful in claiming positive results and competing to claim all titles.”
On the pressures that maybe caused by the streak of successive victories over the team, which have been achieved over the past period of time and led them to reach the semi-finals of AFC Champions League and the final of ADIB Cup, he said: “Winning all matches is a strategic goal for the team at all matches, so I think this exerts pressures over the team as much as it gives us the motive for continuity, and we are always looking forwards to perform very well and claim big results.”
On the message he wants to say to Al-Ain fans, he said: “I always assert an established fact and a real time situation, stating that they are the best with no rival, and we are committed to show the triumphant spirit to make them happy, we are also relying to a great degree on their support for us at all events. While, in this season, our goals are clear and we are looking forwards to realize them.”
He went on: “Al-Ain offered me so much at all professional, personal and family levels. I owe this country and Al-Ain club so much because they changed my life, so I have to teach my family what I feel of sincere sentiments towards the UAE and Al-Ain club, starting with the spirit of loyalty, affection, and the sense of belonging, especially my daughter Flora who is considered an integral part of me, in appreciation to this dearest country.”
