Zoran Mamic opened the pre-match press conference dedicated for his team’s match against Ajman FC by stressing that the Boss will have a new important confrontation in matchweek 7 of the Arabian Gulf League and that the team should boost their level of concentration and show their genuine robust performance and better than their level of performance against Al Jazira. “Indeed, we were not bad as we dominated that match until the 85th minute but we missed several great chances to take the lead and finish it so early,” Zoran said.

He added: “I talked to the squad about the importance of winning Ajman and highlighted the opponent’s strengths and weaknesses. I underlined the importance of being focused when in the area of the competitor and not to miss any opportunity to score while keeping our net clean and safe.”

“I decided to give Ismael Ahmad a break this match not for any reason except to avoid him any further exhaustion of fatigue compared to the official and friendly matches he played with the “Whites” and the “Boss” during the past period,” Zoran responded to a question on his team’s absentees.

He commented on a question about the low performance of the team in the dying minutes of the recent matches by saying: “Surely, we must boost our performance to higher levels, considering that we have already missed certain key players, including the ace-midfielder Omar Abdul Rahman and the striker Ahmad Khalil besides Hussein El Shahat who is pushing himself to the limit to arrive at the required level of readiness and back to his excellent performance.” He stated that the team is changing their style of playing and redistribute the roles to serve the best interest of the team and fill in the gaps. He highlighted that the team did not score as many goals as the previous season, and this is why the team will make use of the winter transfer window to enhance the team’s lines and try to find the suitable quality player to play in the position of playmaker and increase the total goals in the coming matches.”

He went on to say that certain training sessions were not conducted for missing a good number of players as during August the team’s international players joined the UAE National Team for 20 days, 15 days in September and 15 days this month. “If we calculate the total days, we will find the team conducted their training sessions with incomplete squad for a month and a half during the last three months, which is not a short period of time. However, the performance of Al Ain players is still satisfactory and personally I am not upset about it at all, given that their performance is improving by 90% during the training sessions.”

On the team’s preparations for the coming match against Ajman taking in consideration the poor results of his team in the recent matches, he commented: “It is a fact that competitors are well aware of the Boss’ weight and reputation. They always try their best when it comes to playing against Al Ain while relying on the counter attacks as their best style of playing. Therefore, all our matches are not easy ones, and we have to be fully focused and deal with the match’s tiny details with full attention and be smart while playing offensively or while defending our den.”
