Spain’s Head Coach of Al Ain FC addressed the media representatives in the post-match press conference that he is not satisfied by the result of the round 1 match against Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal. “Though I am not happy with the result; yet the squad’s performance was strong and show their genuine fighting spirit and aggressiveness against our opponent. The opponent had more chances than our team, however we were so close to equalize given that the small details might make the difference. Indeed, we had a big chance to score prior the referee’s end of match whistle. We should have translated the great chance to a goal, but we were not lucky enough to do so.”

Carlos added: “I congratulate the squad fighters for their great performance and from my part I have to support them and their spirits in preparation for our coming match against Esteghlal Tehran which only few days ahead. Also, I would like to congratulate our opponent for the victory, and it was a great match between two big clubs in Asia.”

Responding to a question on whether he missed Caio in this top clash match, he said: “I cannot deny that the team did well tonight, and players had three chance to take the lead and win the opponent. Had they taken advantage of any of these chances, things will be completely different, and the result absolutely will be in our favour. However, it is a fact that football is a collective sport but if we were talking about individual players, I must hail Rayan Yaslam’s efforts who did everything in the match despite he was injured in the past period for being injured. Also, not to forget Mohammed Fayez whose performance attracted our attention and happy to have him back to the team and Doumbia who is not registered in the team’s list to play in the league but is listed in the team’s starting line-up for the AFC Champions League. Additionally, I have to thank Mohammed Abdul Rahman who was suffering from exhaustion and this is why I brought him to the field in the second half. As for Caio, I can assure you he is an important player and if he was playing tonight, he will make the required difference.”
