The international goalkeeper of Al Ain FC and UAE National Football Team, Khalid Eisa, stated that Al Ain chances to qualify to the last 16-team stage of ACL 2019 become so difficult. “Though our mission turned to be difficult, we are required to fight bravely to defend the Boss’ logo and holding onto the thin hope regardless of our current spot in the standing table of Group C. With all due respect to the aspirations of the home team, our sights are all set to achieve the best positive result in tomorrow’s match. Indeed, the matches between Al Ain and Al Hilal has its own flavour as one of the most prominent “Derbies” in whole Asia and not only regionally. This is the reason why players are always fully motivated to win them and make the history of the two teams,” Khalid said.

Commenting on reasons behind the drop in the team’s performance following ending up as the runners up of the champs of the FIFA Club World Cup, he said: “Definitely, there are several reasons for that, but it happens in the world of football to experience such circumstances. However, Al Ain is a big team and enjoys a prestigious position in Asia besides the fact that the Club has a massive number of fans inside and outside the continent. Therefore, when we wear the logo of the Boss, our aspirations cannot soar below the skies and I do believe that playing the final match of the FIFA Club World Cup was not more than an achievement as the limits of our ambitions are so high. As I stated earlier, next season we will return strongly and compete to win titles to make our fans happy.”

“The names you mentioned have impact on the organization of any team,” Khalid said in response to a question if losing Amoory, El Shahat and the Croatian Coach Zoran is the reason behind the drop in the team’s performance. He added: “But as I stated earlier, reasons for the drop-in performance are numerous and Al Ain will remain a big team. Those who follow the news of the Boss are well aware that its history is full of titles and achievements that back the team as a whole and it never happens that the team relies on certain names to prosper, it is the other way round as it is the team who produces the stars and examples are abundant.”

Regarding the validity of the news reporters that he received offers form Saudi clubs and whether he will renew his contract with Al Ain, he said: “You could ask my agent on those reports. However, my concentration is fully directed to defend the logo of the Boss and I do wish all my teammates all the best and be able to perform well and achieve the best results.”
