Al Ain Reserved Team continued their preparations for the new football season. The team has just completed their pre-season comprehensive medical tests and kicked off their training sessions.

The first training sessions were led by Spain’s Gerard Zaragoza and his assistant coaches, namely Sebas Vega, the assistant coach, and Albert Martinez, the physical fitness coach.

Zaragoza said in a press statement to the Al Ain Club official website: “I arrived in Al Ain Club last Saturday. I feel thrilled to work for this great club. Indeed, this is the second time for me in UAE. The first time was in Dubai, and I can say that Al Ain Club is one of the best clubs in UAE not only because of its great name but also because of the professionalism of its management and work teams.”

“Since my first day, the Club has provided me with everything I need, and they have great confidence in this project. They genuinely want to promote the players from the Reserved Team to the First Team, which is the vision they are working on. My second goal is to work hard to win the league title, and I believe we are ready to do that,” Zaragoza stated.

On his goals with Al Ain Reserved Team in the next stage, he said: “Our goals are to be the best team in the league, but the most important thing is if we lose any match, we must fight to compensate to achieve our goals.”

As for the importance of communications with all coaching teams of Al Ain various teams, he commented: “Communication between all sectors is 100% important. For example, I also know the coaches of the coaches supervising the first team, such as the assistant coach, Mr. Alberto, and the technical director of Al Ain Football Academy.”

He pointed out that he is very confident that “we will be in constant contact to ensure the players’ readiness and we will work hard to achieve that to ensure that the most prepared players are to join the first team within a short period. These are the goals that the Club seeks to achieve.”

He added: “We now have more than 30 players in the Reserved Team, including goalkeepers. I can assure you that I saw that they are quality players and work hard to prove themselves. They train in two sessions, and I notice their seriousness.”

He concluded his statement that they are planning to hold friendly matches this week. He said: “The first match will be played this week between the Reserved Team players. After that, as of next week, we will play one or two friendly matches per week.”
