Sabri Lamouchi, the French coach of El Jaish, strongly regretted his team’s disqualification from the AFC semi-finals. “Everyone is sad to exit the competition; it was out of our hand, our rivals of Al Ain gained supremacy by their experience,” he commented.
Lamouchi said it is highly important to let go the Asian tournament with all its pros and cons in order to focus on the upcoming encounter against Al-Rayyan next Saturday, where Lamouchi men will fight for the 3 points to ensure the top position of Qatar Stars League.
“It’s been a wonderful adventure to play in the AFC semi-finals; no one expected us to get that far, not you, or even me. I’d like to thank all the players for the strenuous efforts they have exerted during the championship.
He made an impressive message to Al Ain by saying: “Congratulations! We’ll be supporting you in the finals because we prefer to see the Asian title won by a GCC team.”
“I think Al Ain’s greater experience tipped the balance of the match in their favor. They brilliantly managed the home and return matches even though we were superior to them during the group stage. In general, it’s hard to talk about our mistakes when there is such a big difference in experience between the two teams”, he concluded.
