When 10 Years Old … A historic moment in Al Ainawi Football School

In Mind … Faculty of Law

Al Ain’s talented player, Mohsen Abdullah, is one of the main gains of the “Boss” in the 2017-2018 season following earning his Croatia’s Head Coach Zoran Mamic trust. Coach Zoran assured him in an important meeting that he is the young player who possesses the required potentials to be part of the lineup of the strongest teams in Asia.
Our guest in the section of “Memory Test” of Al Ain-Al Sharjah Match Program Booklet enjoys the qualities of high concentration, intelligence, confidence, ambition and a loveable character by everybody. Though he is still at the beginning of his journey in the world of stardom by officially joining the first team squad in this current season, he still has a lot of amazing memories of his training period at the Football School and Al Ain Football Academy.
First Match

I remember that my first match wearing Al Ain shirt was against Al Nasr when I was seven years old. We played by rules of festivals, i.e. to play a one-day tournament with the participation of a group of clubs. Al Ain was crowned with the title and since then this moment is etched into my memory.

Historical Moment

I lived a real historical moment when I was 10 years old that contributed greatly in promoting my desire to develop my football talent. At that time, I was the prisoner of my feelings of pride and honor and I really cannot find the right words to describe my deep joy as well as my teammates’ at that time. That happened when Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, First Vice President of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, First Vice President of the Honorary Council & Chairman of the Board of Directors, visited the club and I was selected along with a number of players to take the challenge tests dedicated for the arts and skills of football, such as: control, concentration and shooting. At that challenge, H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan commended my performance. I still remember on that day in the way back home I was running with my full speed to reach my house and tell my family members about what had happened.  Definitely, my family’s joy enhanced my personal joy which gave me the motivation I and my younger brother Hussein needed to keep going in our football career in this lofty great sport entity.

First Coach

The first football coach who actually supervised my training was Coach Medhat El Masry, and then directly I was trained by Coach Khalid Bashir. Personally, I do highly appreciate all the football coaches who trained me in the various junior teams of Al Ain Football Club.

Personal Ambitions

Indeed, it is not a secret to hide when saying that my ambition away from the world of football is to continue my higher studies and graduate from the Faculty of Law. It is my childhood dream, especially as I have been receiving remarkable support from my family and a number of my teammates in the first team squad, mainly Mohammed Fayez and Rayan Yaslam who always motivate me to fulfill my dream and before that my great desire to study law.

A Memorable Goal

Actually, it was not a single goal but a “Hat-Trick”. This happened in our match against Al Ahli in U-14 League. The first half of the match ended by 2-0 to the advantage of the opponent team scored by Khalfan Mubarak who is currently playing to Al Jazeera FC. At that time there was a fierce competition between me and Khalfan as we were playing in the Juniors National Team and that match was so critical in the team’s journey to win the title of the league. During the break time, Coach Ali Khamis, currently the Technical Director of the Al Ain Football Academy, talked to me stressing that it is important to win that match and I replied to him “God willing”. I was lucky enough in the second half time to score two goals after 10 minutes of the kickoff whistle, and before the end of the match by 5 minutes I scored the third goal. Thanks God we were able to win the title of the league that season.

Joining the First Team

Absolutely, joining the first team is the dream of all players of the Football Academy. However, it is not the end of the journey for them, but the real beginning of any player  looking forward to progress in this career and get the international badge. The player is required at this stage to look after himself and to be a committed player inside and outside the club by adopting the best diet systems, sleeping early and be a professional player in the right and required manner.
