“We are ready for the continental challenge and fiercely compete to win the title of the new version of the Asian league,” Brazil’s Caio Lucas enthusiastically commenced the press interview while expressing his pleasure to qualify for the group stage of ACL2018. He promised the Ainawi fans by saying: “We will do our best on the pitch and fight to make the Ainawi Nation happy; the loyal nation who are eager to recapture the Asian title and repeat the historical scene of 2003.”

Commenting on his special way of celebrating scoring Al Ain’s second goal against Bahrain’s Malkiya in the match held on Tuesday 30th January 2018, he said: “My extreme happiness by yesterday’s goal actually back to two reasons. Firstly, this goal comes following a long time of not scoring against opponents. Secondly, by my second goal I contributed to my team’s victory and qualifying for the group stage.”

“When circumstances help you to be part of Al Ain and you have the chance to defend its logo, make sure you belong to the best team in whole Asia,” said he in response to a question on whether he is happy playing for Al Ain FC. He added: “I am not only happy by being a member of Al Ain squad, but also so proud to belong to this great club and for me it is an honor to be Ainawi who become fully mature as days go on. Indeed, Al Ain is my favorite city where all my family and friends live and my lovely things as well.”

On his ambitions he dreams to achieve with Al Ain FC in the current season, he said: “It is not a secret to say that I am not satisfied with my level of performance this season for not scoring goals as required, besides being exposed to an injury that kept me away from football fields for several weeks.” He stressed the fact that “Any player wears Al Ain’s logo should have the sky as the limit for his ambition for only being a member of a lofty club.”

“The number of goals I have scored so far does not count,” added he while stressing “What really matters is to contribute in achieving great results, as well as exhibiting my genuine fighting spirit, willingness and seriousness while playing side by side with my teammates to contribute in achieving the club’s ambitions in the current season. I do hope to be able to make the difference and be the optimal addition just to meet the expectations of everybody.”

Replying to the final question on his assessment of the matchweek 15 of AGL against Ajman, he said: “Definitely, it is so important match and we all are well aware of what we are meant to do.” He concluded by saying: “We have no choice but to win, so we will play in the spirit of one team and do our best to snatch three points to maintain the team’s leading position at the top of the standing table, particularly we are playing at home and among our stunning fans.”
