Talking about his most significant hobbies, Al Ain’s FC “international” striker Sweden’s Marcus Berg said: “Looking and contemplating in camels is my favorite hobbies.” He elaborated on this by saying: “In my country, I used to watch camels from a distance and since I was a child I wish I had the chance to touch them. Indeed, I was hoping to ride a camel one day but never think in what I should do to make it happen.”

“When negotiations with Al Ain FC were underway, I started my extensive search on the quiet Al Ain City.” Added he. He expressed his admiration by Al Ain City by stating: “What I did really like about Al Ain City is the amazing development of UAE in all fields while showing interest and preserving customs and traditions as well as the traditional sports, including horse and camel racing and falconry. At that time, I recognized that I will be able to fulfill my long-life dream.”

Hailing the qualities of his best Emirati friend, Diab bin Rakkad, he said: “I was quite lucky to get to know my friend Diab bin Rakkad. He introduced me to all customs and tradition of UAE and popular Emirati food which I am currently fond of, such as “harees” and “loquaimat” … etc.

On his feelings when seeing the camels closely, he described that by saying: “I was overwhelmed with a great sense of joy when I saw the camels in Bin Rakkad’s farm. At that time, I was more determined to ride one of them, especially as my friend showed me the tactics of dealing with the camels because riding and getting off a camel needs special training; it is not a piece of cake as others think.” He concluded: “I cannot describe my great feelings and currently very excited to experience all heritage sports in UAE.”
