Tackling his team’s performance against Emirates in the post-match press conference, Croatia’s Head Coach of Al Ain, Zoran Mamic stated “Bravo for my team for winning the match against Emirates, but the result was absolutely better than the team’s performance.” He pointed out: “Al Ain played well in the first half and scored three goals but in total performance was not similar to ours in the previous match against Ajman in matchweek15. This is due to decline in the level of focus that led to wasting a lot of easy chances. By the end of the day, the most important thing is to snatch the three points and no injuries among players.”

“Definitely, after we scored three goals, some players started thinking about the coming match against KSA’s Al Hilal, but in football we have to think about each match discretely,” said he in response to a question if such a decline in focus could be attributed to reasons that players start thinking about their team’s match against KSA’s Al Hilal.

Commenting on a question on his team’s ability to compete in the AFC Champions League this season, as he had stressed on former occasions on the importance of playing this season with full squad, he said: “In this current Asian Championship, I planning to make use of all my squad’s efforts. At the time being we are missing only Bandar Al Ahbabi and we do hope that he will be fit for our next match against Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal. Indeed, the rest of the players are ready to go for the coming clash match of the Champions League. Al what we have to do is to enjoy playing our next match and masses who will attend the match in Riyadh.”

As for Ahmad Khalil’s adaptation with the team, he responded: “Actually, he adapts well with the team and in the required level. As all you know, Ahmad did not play for a long period of time since the beginning of the season and it is essential to improve his physical fitness.” He underlined the fact: “The factor of matches pressure does not help to grant him this opportunity as required but he is a great asset to the team and he has scored three goals so far.” He concluded: “I am sure that by the end of the season he will reach the required level of fitness and by the way he is not showing except 50% of his real and genuine level of performance.”
