Matar Obeid Al Dhaheri “Al Sahbani”, Al Ain First Football Team Manager, expressed his shock of the fake news and rumours on a heated controversy and clash between the Brazilian Caio Lucas and Portuguese Robin Rubero took place in the changing room during the break time of matchweek 17 against Shabab Al Ahli Dubai on 28th February 2019.

Al Sahbani stressed that substituting the players were as per the head coach’s technical assessment and his own individual decision. He took his own decision to further enhance the team’s striking force in the second half of the match against Shabab Al Ahli Dubai and not because any other reason. He also explained: “Al Ain has already opened a new chapter of the AFC Champions League 2019 and closed the chapter of the Arabian Gulf League temporarily. Our focus is now fully directed to the team’s opening match of Group C against Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal. I have no doubt that such rumours have a clear goal, but it will never affect the morale of the team.”

Al Sahbani concluded: “The Boss did show their authentic quality in the FIFA Club World Cup- UAE 2018, and we have full and limitless confidence in our squad who were able to thrash Team Willington, Espérance de Tunis and River Plate in that recent international competition.”
