Croatia’s Head Coach of Al Ain, Zoran Mamic opened the pre-match press conference dedicated for Al Ain and Al Nasr of matchweek2 of the Arabian Gulf League by underlining the fact that his team’s mission against Al Nasr is not easier than the previous confrontation against Al Sharjah.

“The opponent team has quality players and enjoy high aspirations to reserve one of the top positions in the standing table,” stressed he. He expected that Al Nasr will perform well in the coming match scheduled to be held on Monday 10th Sep.

On media reports anticipating appointing him the head coach of the UAE national football team, he simply replied: “No Comments.”

Commenting on question on whether pressures he faces of leading Al Ain reserved team led to sending him off in the last match against Al Sharjah, he said: “Nothing related to pressures, but it is my keenness to protect my players, especially the young ones. My reaction was normal at the moment of not awarding my team a penalty kick, but I was sent off as I was not standing in the head coaches’ box.”

Zoran gave an objective assessment of the “Boss” squad in their last match against Al Sharjah by confirming that his players did well and exhibited exceptional collective efforts during Al Sharjah match. “However, we are required to turn this page as it become something of the past and to focus on our coming match. We are to be fully ready to keep achieving great positive results in the Arabian Gulf Cup,” said he.

He added: “We look forward to playing the coming match at even a higher level. All the players are required to follow instructions and fulfill their field tasks and duties accurately and professionally as of the kickoff whistle until the last minute of the match.”

He concluded the press conference by stressing the fact that it is the first match for Al Ain at home at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium. “I hope to see massive numbers of our loyal fans in the standings on Monday to boost the player’s aspirations. The “Boss” clinched in the past season the double historic titles and deserve great support from their great fans. The Ainawi Nation’s support is unquestionably led the team to achieve remarkable results.”
